Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Blushes

In addition to my obsession with the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzers & Highlighters, I can now add the Murumuru Butter Blush to the list. Physicians Formula has been trending all over the internet lately due to their new release; the Butter Collection Palette – which I have yet to try, but definitely want to! For now, sharing my thoughts + swatches on the blush collection!

I’ve been using these for over a month now so I can confidently say that these are SO good. While I don’t love them all equally, I think they’re a great option & value for the price (less than $12). Like the Butter Bronzer & Butter Highlighters, these are infused with murumuru butter, capuacu butter & tucuma butter creating a smooth, creamy texture with soft-focus pigments that give a such pretty blushing glow. I love the texture, it’s a powder but still hydrating and dense.. it doesn’t apply as dry & powdery as many powder blushes and is very buildable. I hate overly pigmented face powders and love that this is so easy to work with and you can liberally apply it without having to worry about looking ridiculous. So if you’re heavy handed when it comes to applying makeup, you’ll definitely appreciate this formula.

The compact also includes a mirror and small applicator underneath the pan. Mirror, good.. applicator, not so much. I think it applies much better with a fluffy blush brush. I also think they could have left the applicator out and made the packaging a little less bulky. However, the palm leaves + coconut scent totally make up for that and give me tropical beach vibes every single use.

Out of the 4 shades offered, Vintage Rouge is my go-to. It offers such a natural flush of color, and if you’re someone who prefers subtlety, you’ll love this. Plum Rose is also beautiful as a soft natural blush, also very subtle and would probably only work for fair to light skin tones. Rosy Pink is the brightest color and is a really fun pop of color without being too much or unworkable. Natural Glow, it makes a fabulous highlighter, but I can’t see how this would work for anyone as a blush? It gives more of a light golden glow than what you’d expect to see from a blush. To narrow it down, I’d chose Vintage Rouge or Rosy Pink as they offer the most pigment.
