Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s day is only two weeks away & I’ve put together the ultimate list of gift ideas for any dad of all ages. For some reason probably like 90% of these gifts are food of some sort or food related gifts, maybe it’s a not so subtle hint to my dad/husband that they should be cooking more?! 😉 Men can be so hard to shop for, so hopefully this list gives you an idea or two.

Best Made Co // Seamless & Steadfast Enamel Steel Utility Pot + Enamel Tumblers – If your dad or husband loves to cook, these are for him. The utility pot will withstand heat from even the hottest campfires. Having 2 sons, camping is bound to be in our future, or maybe just my husbands. 😉 The World War II era machinery used to make these ensures a smooth, long-lasting, seamless finish and very durable product that will withstand any and all use it gets. Both the utility pot and the tumblers feature their signature “famous X”, a compass rose (utility pot only) and have a masculine look to them. Not only are they great for camping, but grilling as well.

Ceramic Chef // Round or Oblong Grilling & Cooking Stone – My husband mentioned a while back that he wanted a grilling stone. I searched for the best quality and most versatile product, and found the Round Ceramic Chef stone on Crate & Barrel’s website. Both shape stones can be used for grilling (or cooking) meats, vegetables, pizza, ANYTHING! Within the first week of giving him this he used it 4 times, twice for pizza, and again for grilling chicken & steak. The ribbed side is best for meats, poultry or fish, the flat side for pizza, flatbreads or even cookies. It’s made to withstand the highest temperature heat and the more use it gets, the more naturally seasoned it becomes, enhancing the flavor every time it’s used. Take care of this and it will last you a lifetime. My husbands new #1 grilling tool! They also sell an Ohio State licensed product called the Buckeye Block, another great option.

The Gracious Gourmet // Spreads, Chutneys, Pestos & Tapenades – A huge time saver in the kitchen. These can be used to create desserts, compliment cheese, or even added to any meal to enhance the flavor and create a delicious main course. Quality is key.. all natural ingredients, no preservatives, made in small batches. My favorite: the mango pineapple chutney. I used it to recreate (with a few modifications) a Rachael Ray chicken salad recipe I found a few weeks ago. The flavors balanced so well from sweet to savory and it tasted SO good! My husbands favorite: hatch chile pesto. He used it to marinate grilled chicken. Big variety, with a few suggested uses for each (including recipes), making cooking even the most complex meal a breeze.

Melissa’s Organic // Organic Grinders – Fresh. Ground. Spices. One of my husband’s favorite things to do is cook. Having a variety of fresh spices makes it much easier to enhance the flavor of any meal. This set comes with, Garden Herb with Sea Salt, Rainbow Peppercorn, Italian Seasoning, and Garlic & Herbs with Sea Salt. We use the Garden Herb with sea salt on basically any vegetable, it adds subtle flavor and tastes delicious with this alone. Italian seasoning is a staple in our pantry, we go through it very fast. I love that we don’t have to buy a ton of different spices to achieve the flavor we want that we easily get by using just one of these grinders. Melissa’s Organic also delivers specialty produce all throughout the United States. These grinders + one of their fresh produce baskets = the perfect gift for the dad who loves to cook!

Spicely Organics // Salt and Pepper Gift Box – Green, white & pink pepper and Himalayan salt. The very basic necessities that are a must in any home cook’s kitchen. My husband loves these. He uses them every single day, on every single meal. Their products are 100% organic, fair trade, kosher, vegan and gluten-free. They use a steam sterilization process to sterilize their imported spices to avoid adding any nasty chemicals. Excellent quality, practical gift that is sure to get TONS of use and will more than likely be re-ordered. Dad will love these.

unnamed-74Lillie’s Q // Sauces & Rubs – If there’s one thing that will come in handy this summer season while grilling, it’s barbeque sauce. I love the variety Lillie’s Q offers. They have multiple different sauces from Ivory to Hot Mess and everything in-between. My personal favorite is “Smoky” it’s sweet and mild and definitely gives the flavor of authentic Memphis-style barbeque without even leaving your house. My husband and I are huge Elvis fans, so anything that reminds us of Memphis and the fun we had there is a must! If you’ve never been to Memphis or don’t have any plans to but want the best, closest to the real deal barbeque, order this, you won’t be let down. If you’re anything like me (VERY indecisive) they sell gift sets of 3 or 6 bottles which come beautifully packaged and are sure to be a hit.

unnamed-38Calivirgin // Sampler Set – Another kitchen staple that gets a whole lot of use is Olive Oil. This set includes their most popular products and is affordable for any budget. What’s included? Four (100ML bottles) flavored olive oils (lusty lemon, bountiful basil, guilty garlic, extra virgin) and barrel aged balsamic vinegar. I love buying sampler sets especially as a gift, it doesn’t seem random and doesn’t necessarily have to be paired with something else. Calivirgin produces their olive oils in the Lodi-Delta region of California which has the same Mediterranean climate as the olive growing regions of Italy. The Coldani family has been in the business for generations and takes pride in producing the highest quality olive oil available. Their products are Seal-Certified and are extracted without chemicals or excessive heat.

Boomf // Marshmallows – My son was so excited when I told him we were going to order my husband marshmallows with pictures of him & the baby on them. My husband was equally as excited when he was given them! I think it is the cutest gift idea for dads from kids. Ordering is VERY simple, the hardest part is narrowing it down to just 9 pictures. My box was made & mailed within probably two hours of ordering it and arrived to my house about 5 days later (even with shipping from the U.K). Obsessed with this company & their concept!

Shotwell Candy Co // Father’s Day Gift Box – If you choose to buy only one gift from this entire list, this should be it. I’ve been a fan of Shotwell Candy caramels since the first time I tried them over a year ago. I don’t want to attempt to even pick my favorite, I love every single flavor they offer. I gave some to my parents as a gift a while back and they loved them just as much. Each box includes 4-pieces of their most popular flavors, 16 caramels total. The flavors included are, original salted, craft beer & pretzel, “old-fashioned” cocktail & hand-crushed espresso caramels. The company owners Jerrod & Lisa started making & selling their caramels right out of their home kitchen and quickly became a huge success and are now selling them all over the country. Buy this, you will thank me later!

French Broad Chocolates // Bourbon & Beer Collection – They created this unique collection specifically for father’s day. It includes 12 handmade chocolates that are made with bourbon or local beer. My husbands favorite: Irish Depth Charge, coffee liqueur, whiskey, a local stout in a white chocolate ganache. Amazing. The Bourbon & Ginger is awesome as well, spicy fresh ginger covered in dark chocolate. This is definitely a unique variety and is sure to please, especially for those who love dark chocolate! 🙂

Tradestone Confections // Chocolate Assortment & Salted Caramel Turtles – These chocolates are pure heaven. The chocolate assortment boxes include some of their most popular items along with a few creative flavors. I may or may have had *a little* sample to taste test. 🙂 I don’t even want to try and choose a favorite, it’d be WAY too hard to narrow it down. Some of the flavors included: caramel apple, pistachio citrus, raspberry, toasted coconut, and tahitian vanilla. Amazing. The Salted Caramel Turtles feature a soft caramel center covered in dark chocolate and a pinch of sea salt giving these the perfect balance.

TWELVElittle // Unisex Courage Tote – I may be a little bit partial towards this one because I have a 3 month old and a 3-year-old, and I’ve had the hardest time finding the perfect diaper bag.. until now. This bag works well for both HIM & I. He complained about the other diaper bags I had, (they were too girly, they didn’t zipper, everything falls out, not big enough to hold everything, etc, etc, etc.) This has every functional quality you can hope for in a diaper bag, two side bottle pockets, it’s water-resistant, a cross-body strap, includes a changing pad. This bag will extend way past the baby years as it is the perfect size for a weekender tote. Avoid the hassle of buying 4 different diaper bags (like I did) go right to this and save yourself the time, money and frustration of searching for the perfect bag. TWELVElittle bags have been featured in dozens of publications and hey, you might even see your favorite mom/dad celebrity rocking one too!

Bespoke Post // Knotted Box – Bespoke Post is a monthly subscription box that delivers a themed collection of products specifically for men. Each month you get to choose from their limited-edition boxes filled with a few different unique things. I chose the “Knotted” box which included 3 ties from a NYC based label, Gilded Age. Their designs are inspired by vintage styles and can be worn on an occasion from weddings to meetings. The three ties I chose were, Blue Pencil Stripe, Blue Pindot & Blue Chambray. If ties aren’t his thing, they have several other themed boxes available. A bunch of different options, you will easily find the perfect gift for dad.
