On-The-Go Healthy Snack Ideas

Processed with Moldiv

Does anyone else ever feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish your basic daily tasks and still find the time to cook & eat healthy? I know how to cook healthy meals, and have been pretty strict about my diet since joining weight watchers at the beginning of May. But my biggest down-fall is snacking. I LOVE snacks. The past month and a half of eating healthy and joining a group of like-minded people has really opened my eyes on how bad I was eating before. I pay attention to what I’m eating, but still enjoy my food, just remind myself of moderation! This is my list of current favorite healthy snacks that are perfect for an on-the-go lifestyle. I’ve included the WW+ Points next to each based on PER SERVING that I calculated using a calculator I purchased from Weight Watchers. I hope these snacks inspire you to choose a healthier option, even if you’re on the run!

Fusion Jerky – I may or may not have devoured an entire bag in one sitting my first time trying it. The Chili Basil Turkey Jerky is my favorite. All natural, high protein, low sodium, made without gluten, preservatives or nitrates. I love their modern approach and the unique flavors offered, really artisan and tastes nothing like your average package of beef jerky. Chili Basil Turkey Jerky (my favorite): WW Points+ Value = 2

BOOMCHICKAPOP Bites – Gluten free & non GMO. These were SOOOO good. I had to fight with my son over them, they went very fast! Mixed Berry: WW Points+ Value = 3

Biena Chickpea Snacks – Made with all natural ingredients, packed with protein & fiber and low in fat. Four totally different flavors to satisfy you no matter what type of mood you’re in. My favorite is the Honey Roasted. A subtle sweetness with a slightly salty finish. Honey Roasted: WW Points+ Value = 3

Way Better Snacks Sprouted Barley Crackers – I love pairing these crackers with a wedge of Laughing Cow Creamy Swiss (light) cheese, it’s like the healthier version of traditional cheese and crackers. Delicious. They use the sprouting process to boost the nutrients and make them easier for your body to absorb. Salt and Pepper: WW Points+ Value = 1

Hail Merry Macaroons – Let me just start off by saying, I. Love. Hail. Merry. Snacks. I tried their Miracle Tarts about a year or so ago and was in love. I love taking the macaroons to work, super convenient and just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy my sweet tooth. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor is my favorite, they’re gluten-free, vegan, and made with organic fair trade chocolate chips, almond flour and maple syrup from a family farm in Vermont. Pure ingredients that melt in your mouth instantly! Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Macaroon: WW Points+ Value = 4

Veggie-Go’s – Nothing like many of the fruit “snack” varieties you will find at the grocery store, these are made with REAL fruits & vegetables. Fully organic & non-GMO. These are seriously the most convenient snack to take along with you anywhere you go, they’ll even fit in your pocket! Sweet Potato Pie: WW Points+ Value = 0

Barnana Bites – I love bananas! They usually only last 2 days or so in our house because we eat them so often. It’s actually one of my favorite snacks, this is a fun, unique take on your plain banana. Organic, vegan, gluten-free, raw bananas packed with potassium and fiber. Basically the ultimate snack packed into little delicious bite sized pieces. Along with bananas, Barnana bites are a super potassium snack, providing the essential mineral our body needs. Original: WW Points+ Value = 3

GoMacro Mini Bars – These are probably my favorite of the group. They have a big variety, and every single flavor I tried, I loved. Macrobiotic = made from wholesome ingredients. Perfect size for throwing in your gym bag or purse. Packed with plant-based protein, these bars taste as good as they are for you. These are my #1 go-to healthy snack! Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip: WW Points+ Value = 3

Go Raw Sprouted Cookies – Their site says these will satisfy your craving, which I can definitely agree on. I love cookies, cake, anything sweet but can’t afford to use the calories (or points for WW) so avoid eating them all-together. These are the closest thing I’ve found to an actual cookie, that taste great. I love love love the Sweet Crunch Cookie and it’s made using THREE ingredients ONLY! Organic coconut, organic dates & sprouted organic sesame seeds. It really is a unique flavor you wouldn’t expect from something sesame seed based. Sweet Crunch Cookie: WW Points+ Value = 4
