I have been on a mission the past few months to get in shape, lose weight, gain energy, be healthy and feel GREAT. I mentioned in my postpartum fitness/weight loss post that I’m not really into going to the gym. The time, the money, the drive to and from.. Let’s just say I can think of a hundred excuses why I haven’t joined one. HOWEVER, I still am taking the time to exercise on my own, when it fits my schedule, at home! My #1 form of exercise that works best for me and never bores me, is walking. I love waking up early on the weekends and taking my kids for a walk around the neighborhood. But, between the weather being extremely hot and/or rainy, it’s not always convenient and I end up sitting around and putting off the much needed exercise. I searched and searched for the perfect “solution” that fit my needs and found the Stamina Avari Magnetic Treadmill. YES! No more excuses!
Why I chose Avari:
– It’s size. It’s 65lbs, has wheels and is compact enough to fit into a closet.
– It’s manual. VERY basic concept and simple for anyone to use + it makes walking/jogging feel so much more intense.
– It’s price. SO many treadmills on the market come at a really steep price, this one is advertised for under $300 on a few different websites.
It wasn’t hard at all to put together. It took probably about 30 minutes or so. It is very easy to use, even if you’re new to using a treadmill. It has a tension knob (1-8) so you can chose how easy or difficult you want your walk/jog to be. I use this treadmill for 30 minute intervals once daily (twice if I have the time) and adjust the tension setting to 8 so my walk is more intense and actually feel a difference after using it. The electronic monitor tracks workout time, distance, speed and calories burned, with one button control. To sum it up: It’s economical, sturdy, portable and most importantly.. it works! This has become my favorite exercise machine, it motivates me to push myself and gets me one step closer to my fitness goal each use.
