Some of my new favorite beauty & skincare products from June! ❤
.:. Coty Airspun Translucent Loose Setting Powder .:. I’ve seen this all over beauty blogs/vlogs for a while now and was curious if could handle my oily skin. OMG – I was so shocked at how well it worked and kept my foundation matte and intact ALL day with only having to blot my T-zone once the entire day. If you have oily/combination skin as well, I’m sure you understand my excitement. I picked it up at K-Mart (don’t judge!) for $7 and haven’t reached for any other setting powder since. This is definitely worth every penny.
.:. Fiona Stiles Sheer Sculpting Palette .:. Fiona Stiles is a celebrity makeup artist that recently launched her own makeup line. She basically used her years of in-depth experience to create a line of fool-proof makeup that anyone can use (even the beginners). I think that is especially important when it comes to contouring products. It is VERY easy to over do it with this technique. Dark stripes going down your cheeks & across your forehead, muddy discoloration, really deep uneven color… all common contour mistakes that I know I’ve made before. This palette offers sheer buildable coverage that blends out so easily. It comes in two different shades light/medium & medium/dark (pictured) so its great for any skin type. I have been using self tanner so the middle shade in the medium/dark palette matches my skin tone best, and adds just enough dimension.
.:. Lash Star Beauty Full Control Mascara .:. Mascara is one of the makeup products I purchase the least. Once I find one that offers volume + length, I continue using it daily until I’m completely out. This one is dual ended, one brush is meant to boost lash roots, separate and lengthen. The second brush is best used for adding volume without any trace of clumps. I love this mascara and it’s easily buildable making this a great alternative to false lashes.
.:. Color Me Automatic Foundation Applicator Pro Edition .:. I’ve actually been using this randomly over the past 6 months or so. So I guess it isn’t technically a June beauty favorite, but I haven’t really mentioned too much about it so here it is! While I primarily use my Artis Oval 8 brush to apply my liquid foundations, I use this probably 1-2 times a week in-between washing my Artis. This device uses sonic technology to pulsate 15,000 times per minute to mimic finger tapping to give your foundation an airbrushed look. I use this mostly for liquid foundation/bb creams and find that it takes a little longer to apply them, but like the smooth finished results and how even my foundation looks. It can also be used for powder foundation and works well for that too! I wash the applicators (while detached) to avoid having to purchase new ones as often as recommended. This totally isn’t necessary but is kind of a fun novelty item if you’re a beauty junkie.
.:. Artis Oval 6 .:. I professed my love for Artis in a previous blog post, so I won’t go overboard with the information overload here. I can honestly say that the two Artis brushes I own are my absolute favorite brushes all together, not just some of my favorites, but the actual top 2 out of my entire collection. Makeup applies so smoothly and evenly with these and minimal product is needed because the bristles don’t suck up excess product. The Oval 8 is hands down my favorite, but this is a close second. I love using this to contour my cheeks and forehead or even to apply blush. The brushes are so densely packed and the bristles are the softest I’ve ever felt. If I had the extra money laying around I would definitely buy then entire Artis collection.
.:. Mizzi Cosmetics Whipped Lip Scrub .:. I challenge you to find a better lip scrub than this.. I’m pretty sure you won’t. It contains an awesome combination of almond oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, pure beeswax, pure honey and organic stevia amongst a few other pure essential oils. I blew through this stuff in about 6 weeks, I used it morning, noon and night and it left my lips SO soft and smooth and beautifully prepped for lipgloss/lipstick. This company was started by a mom who set out to create lip balms & scrubs with natural ingredients that actually work well.. and she totally did. The ingredients are safe, the scrub is THE best I’ve ever used and they donate a portion of sales to local charities in addition to the American Heart Association which is totally worth supporting.
.:. Pacifica Beauty Super Powder Eye Shadow Trios .:. I am obsessed with eyeshadows no matter how many I have always get just as excited to add more to my collection. These are really smooth and creamy and apply easily and blend out even easier. I like to apply a thin layer of primer or concealer to my eyelids before applying these to get them to last me a full 8+ hours. They’re cute & tiny and great for throwing in your makeup bag to-go for applications on the go or touchups throughout the day.
.:. Julie Hewett Goldie Shimmy .:. I have been allllllll about highlighting/shimmer glowing beauty/makeup products. I love the consistency of this and how little is actually needed to get luminous glowing skin. The formula is super creamy and contains a really light golden neutral pigment. It glides on so easily or can be applied with a brush or just tapped on with your fingers which is how I like to apply it. It’s really light and looks beautiful as a cheek highlighter or overtop of eyeshadow to add a pop of shimmer. This is perfect for summer and with the minimal amount needed, this will last me practically forever.
.:. GLOWBIOTICS Probiotic HydraGlow Cream Oil .:. I’m hesitant to use any oil based facial products because fighting oily skin with facial oils seems counterintuitive, right? Many of them have left my face even oilier than before and just an overall mess all day. Not the case with this, it hydrates your skin while adding luminosity and a really beautiful glow by replenishing fatty acids to soften and moisturize. It’s infused with a mineral complex that instantly reveals brighter skin and is awesome mixed in with foundations give them a little extra glowy-ness. I only use about 1 small drop and massage it all over my face in place of a lotion or face cream. If you’re on the fence about face oils but looking for a good one to try out, this is it.
.:. Wander Beauty Eye Liquid Shadows .:. I’ve also been using these for months and have NO idea why I haven’t written about them sooner. These have been a saving grace for me on many occasions when I apply mascara while I’m out (in the car, at work, etc) and accidently smear it on my eyelid after already applying eyeshadow. I obviously don’t want to completely wipe off all of the eyeshadow I’ve applied and don’t want to have my eyelids look uneven or different so I apply a swipe or two of this and blend it out with my finger to completely hide my wiped away mascara mark and give my eyelids an extra glowing shine. I mix the two or use them separate, either way the colors are beautiful and neutral for everyday wear and the formula is smooth and applies flawlessly.
.:. Honest Beauty Midnight Reflection Luminizing Powder .:. Going with the glowing theme, this powder is a fabulous soft natural highlight. It starts out as a liquid and is baked to a powder to give it the silky smooth texture. I love everything I’ve tried from Honest Beauty, this being no exception. It’s the perfect shade for summer and just gives the most beautiful, subtle lit from within glow. Honest makes all of their makeup without parabens, parafins, talc, silicons, petrolatum or synthetic fragrances which makes this even easier to love.
