Slay the Liquid Lipstick Trend with Mellow Cosmetics Liquid Lip Paints

Another beauty trend we can thank the Kardashian/Jenner clan for is the ever so popular, liquid lipsticks. Although this has been around for awhile, Kylie Jenner certainly helped pump up the popularity making this a must in your makeup collection. Almost every makeup company is coming out with their version on liquid lipsticks, lip creams, or lip lacquer. I haven’t tried any of the Kylie products, so I can’t speak for those. I did try a Smashbox one which I liked, but what I’m really excited for is to share with you my thoughts and swatches on the ENTIRE collection of Mellow Cosmetics Liquid Lip Paints.

As you can guess, the formula is the perfect balance between a lipstick and lipgloss. They quickly dry to a matte finish without the fading or bleeding. These feel really comfortable on the lips and don’t feel overly drying (I add a lip balm over top for extra hydration, thats just a personal preference though). They leave my lips soft with the perfect pop of color and have incredible staying power.

The collection comes in 10 beautiful shades. My favorites are: Barcelona – a pretty peachy pink, Rome – a soft barbie pink, and Tehran – an everyday nude. I always tend to stick with nudes and pinks, it’s what I feel the most comfortable in and looks the best on my skin tone. However, every single shade is chic, super pigmented and long wearing.

I’ve been into trying a lot of new lip products lately and was really impressed with these. With other liquid lipsticks ranging anywhere from $5 on the low end upwards of $80 (yes, there are $80 lipsticks being sold – crazy right?!?) these retail for $14 making them on the more affordable end. And they’re cruelty-free, paraben free and vegan which is super important!
