I love a good sugar scrub when the weather gets cold and my skin could use a little extra TLC. This one combines exfoliating sugar, really nourishing coconut oil and a calming dose of one of the most relaxing scents ever, lavender! These recipes are so simple and more than likely contain products you may already have on hand. It’s such a treat to relax and unwind with a hair mask & sugar scrub and they each work wonders on dry winter skin & hair. Enjoy! Xo.
Sugar Scrub Ingredients:
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1/4 cup of coconut oil
• 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil
Instructions:
-Stir & combine sugar and melted coconut oil in a bowl. Add & stir in lavender oil and package in an airtight container to preserve the freshness. This makes about 1 8oz jar.
Hair Mask Ingredients:
• 2-4 tablespoons of coconut oil
• 3-5 drops of lavender oil
• ½ tsp of argan oil
Instructions:
-Apply mixture from the ends to about the middle point of your hair. Wrap a warm towel around your hair for 30 minutes up to 2 hours. Rinse thoroughly with shampoo. I use this mask 2 times a week for smooth, healthy, shiny hair.
We all know the benefits of coconut oil are plentiful and there are endless amounts of ways to use it. I used a DIY kit from Sky Organics to create these 2 recipes and love the amount of beauty concoctions I can create with just these 3 simple ingredients. They craft everything in small batches using only the purest high quality, all-natural ingredients. I love that they sell DIY kits at a fraction of the cost that you’d buy prepackaged processed scrubs and masks at. I’m already thinking about what I want to make next – so stay tuned for more organic DIY skincare recipes! http://www.skyorganics.com
