Benefits of Using a Jade Roller + Ayurvedic Skincare

When it comes to natural skin care routines, ancient practices often point us in the right direction and the use of jade facial rollers has been around for centuries. They’re incredibly effective, very inexpensive and offer results that are purely magical. They are used to detoxify skin, while keeping it healthy, smooth and youthful. When used consistently on a daily basis for just 5-10 minutes, you should notice changes in just a few short weeks.

A few Benefits:

  • Detoxify Skin – By rolling & massaging facial skin, circulation is increased and helps your lymphatic system push away & drain toxins. The increase in blood flow will help bring more oxygen to the surface and improve skins tone & texture.
  • Reduce puffiness and wrinkles – Using this cold really helps with the puffiness! And in my opinion works better than many eye creams.
  • Tighten Pores – Store it in the fridge and use it cold, the jade remains cold regardless even when in direct contact with the skin, it’s so refreshing. It feels like a mini 5 minute facial massage. Oh and it also stimulates collagen production, which is totally welcome over here!

It’s SO easy to use; I enjoy using this after my full skincare routine. I take a tiny drop of facial oil and rub it together between my fingers and gently tap it on my face (everywhere but my T-zone, my skin is way too oily for all that). Press lightly while rolling outwards towards your ears and hairline. I’ve been using it nightly (consistently) and most definitely can see a difference in my skin, and I also really love how relaxing it is to use and it doesn’t require any batteries or charging, so there is no fuss what-so-ever involved.

unnamed-2 In keeping up with the natural theme, I’ve also introduced the Samaya Pitta Cleanser into my routine. Samaya follows the principles of Dosha to determine your perfect skincare match. What is Dosha? Dosha is the name given to the energies that govern every individual, there’s three primary types of dosha: Pitta, Vata, and Kapha. Each one corresponds to a separate set of traits both physical and emotional. When our indivdual dosha is balanced, both our mind and body are in harmony which in turn promotes healthier skin.

The Pitta cleanser is infused with powerful Ayurvedic botanicals including: Jasmine, Neem, Lotus, Turmeric and Saffron, to name a few. I love how gentle this cleanser is and how it just melts into my skin and removes every trace of makeup (I always use a makeup remover wipe first for heavy eye makeup). I love using this in the evening, the subtle Jasmine scent instantly lifts my mood and helps all my daily stress fade away. It also contains honey to help heal skin, lotus seed extract as an anti-inflammatory, saffron to tone and improve radiance, aloe leaf extract to heal & hydrate. The consistency is thick like a lotion and has a natural floral aroma. It contains ZERO sulphates, parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, synthetic color or fragrances, mineral oils or silicones. This is a fabulous option if you have sensitive skin and is motivation to move towards a cleaner skincare routine.

  1. I really want to try the roller. It looks interesting and I can imagine how good it feels when its cold and you roll it onto the face. A natural remedy I like to do is avocado and honey and lemon as a mask.
