IT Cosmetics recently launched a refurbished form of their cult-favorite Confidence in a Cream; the all new Confidence in a Compact – except this one comes with a unique twist. It’s a blurring serum mixed with hydrating cream + a tint of foundation. It comes in 7 different shades and claims to be the first of its kind, a solid serum foundation that improves skin barrier repair, while hydrating and improving texture.
When using their Heavenly Skin Skin-Smoothing Complexion Brush, it glides onto the skin like silk while addressing underlying redness, minimize the appearance of pores, and smoothing out any uneven texture. It’s kind of a combination of a BB/CC cream, but more sheer and breathable with a smooth, dewy finish. As someone with slight redness (cheeks) and oily skin (T-zone), I applied my Cover FX Custom Blot drops underneath and a very thin layer of this overtop and it covered really well without having to use a ton of product or additional concealer.
-the shades compare to other IT Cosmetics foundations
-the compact is palm-sized and great for traveling and mid-day touch ups.
-the consistency is nice and it covers redness/blemishes well.
-very hydrating and protects skin from UVA/UVB rays.
-the product needs to be slightly warmed up to blend the serum fully, so it can look patchy and it’s easy to over apply by accident.
-very hydrating, yes the hydrating is good but can be a con if you have very oily skin.
Overall, I am impressed with this and will continue to use it regularly to cover imperfections and even out my skin tone. And like every other IT Cosmetics foundation, the shade medium (pictured) is a perfect match for my light-to-medium skin tone.
If you’re thinking of trying this foundation and have normal to dry skin, I think you’ll love it, if you have oily skin, definitely apply an oil control primer and focus on pressing the product in opposed to gliding it around. The end results are flawless skin and the coverage is very buildable.
