Leave it to Jerrod Blandino & the Too Faced team to bring us the most beautiful summer makeup collection of the season. Too Faced never fails when it comes to a fun new launch; they continuously churn out adorable products year after year, this being no exception. Out of all the recent launches I’ve seen lately, this was the one I was most excited for.
Love Light Prismatic Highlighter $30 ::: I’ve been really into using highlighters lately. It’s one of those products that I don’t reach for daily but am really pleased with my makeup when I actually do. If your skin is looking lackluster or dull, apply a few swipes of this to liven up your complexion to a healthy, luminous glow. I am absolutely OBSESSED with the Sweet Peach Glow palette, and the highlight shade in there is one of my favorites ever. This formula is really similar; these just seem to be a bit glitterier in my opinion. If you’re worried about your skin looking blinding bright (as the name suggests) – fear not, these all apply incredibly subtle with just a hint of shimmer. They can definitely be built up and also apply beautifully over top of a cream highlight if you’re looking for something really, really intense. I have a heavy hand with makeup, and always prefer subtly, and building coverage to avoid over-doing it. My favorite is Ray of Light, the rose gold compliments any blush color.
-Ray of Light (rose gold)
-You Light Up My Life (silver)
-Blinded by the Light (gold)
Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks $21 ::: Six new shades were added to their already existing collection of melted mattes. These aren’t your typical boring colors you’d expect to see in a Spring launch. As with everything Too Faced creates, they added fun names and unexpected colors. I LOVE the unique shade range and feel there is something for everyone here whether you prefer subtlety like I do (Holy Chic!), a classic rich red lip (Suck It/Wine Not), the increasingly popular 90’s inspired throwback color (Granny Panties) or bold pops of color like Jawbreaker & Wicked. The doe foot applicator make these a breeze to apply. They have a really smooth consistency and the color applies evenly and doesn’t accentuate dryness. They take about 30 seconds or so to fully dry down to a matte, opaque finish.
Natural Love Palette $59 ::: You’ve probably seen like thousands of pictures of this palette floating around on Instagram. I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews, I for one, am a huge fan. It contains 30 pans of neutral, beautifulness. I cannot get enough of this palette! If you’re looking for bright bold colors, than no you won’t find them here, if you’re looking for pretty, neutral, everyday gold, pinks, mattes and shimmers, this is for you. This palette contains 7 matte, 13 shimmer and 10 sparkle shades. In addition to their newly released colors, they combined some of their bestselling shades from various neutral palettes in to one mega sized palette that is soft, romantic and a neutral lover’s dream!
Not every single color in the palette is a total hit, I found that the first and last rows (left to right) weren’t the best in color payoff. Some of the lighter shades were a bit chalky and some of the darker shades were patchy. But the 4 middle rows… oh yes! The formula is similar to that of the Too Faced iconic chocolate bar palettes. They are pigmented, smooth and apply/blend so effortlessly. For the glittery shades, I use a makeup setting spray on my brush for the best color payoff. These are flattering for all skin tones and I get inspired to have fun with my makeup every time I use this. As with all of their palettes they include a glamour guide which provides several ideas on how to use this palette, and I’ve used it almost daily since I got it. If you’re not sure what to buy from this collection, I’d recommend this. You can even experiment using some of the brighter golden shades as cheek highlighters! My favorite, most used colors: honey butter, moonbeam, honey pot, satin sheets, fairy tale, kittens, love bug, bunny nose. Okay, so clearly I can’t narrow it down to just a few. 🙂
FYI ** As always, my reviews are not paid and are based on my own opinion, personal use and results.
