Kristofer Buckle makeup. Wow. SO, so glad I came across this makeup line. If you haven’t heard of him, Kristofer Buckle is a celebrity makeup artist with a-list clients such as Mariah Carey, Blake Lively, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Ripa and Sheryl Crow. His work has been featured in numerous media outlets like Vogue, Allure, Harpers Bazaar, Glamour, InStyle and Cosmopolitan. I love when big time makeup artists create their own lines – they’ve obviously mastered their craft and know exactly whats needed to create a flawless face. They use the best of the best when it comes to products and if they can’t find it, they create it. You can tell a lot of thought went into putting this carefully curated collection together to feature exactly what’s needed to look & feel beautiful. Xo.
I have a blush obsession so it’s no surprise this is probably my favorite product offered. This Twinset Blush Duo comes in two shades; Forever (pictured) & Delight and includes both a cream and a powder. The idea behind this concept is to apply the cream to cheeks for a healthy wash of color and then apply the powder overtop to set & lock the color in place. Blush always seems to be on of the first things to fade away throughout the day, so this concept is pretty genius. I LOVE this color, it’s perfect for everyday wear and is subtle, buildable and very easy to work with. A lot of overly pigmented blushes can be way too easily over applied, this one is one of my all time-faves. Oh, and the packaging is so, so beautiful!
I’m also really loving the Undiscovered Full Coverage Concealer. Full coverage, creaseless, flawless coverage. I’ve only found 3 concealers I’ve liked over the last year or so, and this is one of them. The consistency is really smooth and creamy and it contains shea butter and olive oil to moisturize and soften skin. It’s great for covering redness & blemishes and amazing at brightening up unsightly dark under eyes.
Foundation Sticks aren’t usually my thing – but the shades match my skin color so well, I’ll make an exception for these! They claim this is a 3-in-1 formula that primes skin while smoothing wrinkles & pores, contains blurring ingredients that provide a soft focus effect and offers buildable coverage with a natural matte finish. I didn’t notice a big difference in my pores, but do like that this is a medium to full coverage foundation that lasts on my skin and gives a natural looking finish, that isn’t cakey at all. My biggest issue with stick foundations is that they can be hard to blend and sometimes break apart faster and leave my skin looking oily. Not the case with this, if primed and set properly.
Which leads me to the Casting Call Translucent Loose Setting Powder. A step I never skip is always applying a setting powder overtop of my foundation to keep my skin shine free and my makeup intact all day long. This is super lightweight and doesn’t leave behind a white cast at all.
Lately, I’ve been really into brow pomades. I always thought a brow pencil did a better job at filling them in, but I noticed that pomades usually look more natural and not as dark and harsh. I’m in the process of trying to grow my brows in a little thicker – can I just say that it is taking WAY longer than I thought.. the struggle is real! But this pomade is helping make them look a little bit better until they grow in fuller, and more evenly.
As mentioned in my last post, my lipstick & lip gloss collection has increased by tenfold in the last few months. I’ve managed to become a lipstick hoarder and I’m not totally hating it! 😉 The shade Dare is such a beautiful, bold, rich red and is sure to make a statement. However, no matter how hard I try, I’ll always prefer neutrals. Tender is my most used and it’s one of those “your lips but better” mauve/nude colors.
I’ve gone back and forth on whether I prefer mattes or shimmer shades when it comes to eyeshadow but one thing that’s always remained the same is that I can never have enough neutral, everyday palettes. This one contains every nude, taupe, version of brown you could ever want or need and is the perfect size for traveling.
Lastly, a few more eye products. As much as I love how full and voluminous false lashes make my lashes look, I rarely ever wear them. But, my lashes are so short & sparse, I need a good mascara to pump up the volume add and length. This one does both without the clumpy-ness. The Dual Ended Highlighter is great for highlighting the brow bone without looking too sparkly or glittery. I also can appreciate this Stunt Double Dual Ended Eyeliner and Corrector Volumizing Mascara Duo. Who else avoids liquid eyeliner because of the mess and could use every ounce of help to apply it evenly?!? I suck when it comes to applying winged liner or liquid liner in general. I love that this includes a corrector to help clean up mistakes making this a breeze to work with.
