The Power of Paint – Dining Room Makeover

Never underestimate the power of paint! Over the last few weeks we’ve managed to paint the entire house room by room. Our downstairs is open concept with the exception of the formal dining room. I wanted the entire downstairs (bathrooms and master excluded) to be one uniform color so we decided to start in the dining room to make sure we loved the color we chose before struggling to paint the 23 ft walls in our living room. Woooosah. It was quite a process (for my husband, I just kept the kids and dog out of his way! 🙂 ) but I am SO, so glad it’s done!

After painting I immediately wanted to switch up and refresh some decor. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on new EVERYTHING I decided to move a few things around from room to room and repurpose them while choosing one piece of decor to be the focal point. I was really inspired by a picture I found on Pinterest with a black Gather 3D wooden cutout and distressed shutters. So I decided to recreate my own version and I’m in love with how it turned out!

And, here’s the AFTER:

It’s so much brighter and inviting and I couldn’t be happier with the end result!
