While the rest of the beauty community is going crazy over the new Urban Decay Naked Heat palette, every Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit ever created and the unicorn makeup craze, I’m ready to talk about a handful of my most used, favorite products that aren’t raved about enough and deserve way more attention and hype! I have been absolutely obsessed with Buxom lately, and with a lip collection of well over 100 shades and a customizable eye shadow bar with a wide range of versatile shades suitable for a variety of different skin tones and eye colors how could anyone not be?!
The Full-On Lip Creams are my absolute favorite everyday go-to lip glosses ever. I cannot put these down, I wear them every. single. day. They’re a super creamy (no-shimmer) formula that offer Buxom’s famous tingling plumping effect. The shades Pink Champagne & Bellini (fresh nectar) are my favorites. Both are beautifully understated colors that pair well with any makeup look whether you’re going for natural or full on glam. The scent is amazing, they’re comfortable to wear and the added plumping effect is just a bonus!
The Full-On Lip Polishes come in a HUGE range of over 80 shades! These differ from the Lip Creams as they all contain a subtle, sheer shimmer. Vitamins A + E leave lips soft & hydrated while the refreshing tingle provides fuller, plumper lips – no injections necessary! If you’re looking for some of the best glosses on the market, look no further, and surely there is a color to suit your mood every day of the week. My favorites: Dolly (shimmering sultry mauve) and April (glimmering icy pink).
I am definitely more of a lip gloss girl, but this gel lipstick is perfection. White Russian is part of their new collection, its a pale nude pink that is a must-have for me. Sometimes matte lipsticks tend to be drying, not the case with this. The texture is really creamy and glides on effortlessly.
On to the eyeshadow palette – I had another nude eye palette from Buxom a while back that I was less than impressed with. The colors were all basic everyday neutrals, which are what I reach for most, but the palette just didn’t inspire me, I never reached for it, and it barely got any use. This Dolly’s Wild Side palette on the other hand, is absolutely stunning! Yes, all but one shade (Wild Nights) fall into the neutral category, but they’re more on the mauve side and just beautiful colors that are perfect for everyday wear. Buxom shadows are formulated with a built in primer, I prefer to just use a little concealer underneath to help the shadows last all day without creasing at all.
Despite having a ton of eyeshadow palettes, I use this one on a regular basis, the shades Lingerie Lover (crease color) and Mink Magnet are my favorites, Silk Sheets & Champagne Buzz add such brightness to the eyes. Spoiled Sexy adds depth and is great at smoking everything out, and lastly, if you’re looking for a bold color that is sure to make a statement Wild Nights would be it. Don’t be intimidated by the bright swatch, like all of Buxom shadows, it’s super pigmented but blends out like a dream. The formula is so easy to work with and love that even if you can’t find a pre-made palette of theirs that you want, you can create your own with their customizable eyeshadow bar… best concept ever.
