Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation // R230, Y270 & R300

With tons of mixed reviews on this – I’m excited to share mine! Marc Jacobs claims that this is a 24-hour wear foundation that is flashback-free & contains SPF 25. It is oil-free, buildable, self-setting, and designed to make your skin look hydrated and more youthful. AND, it is ideal for sensitive, normal, dry, combination and oily skin types. I’ve tried what feels like a thousand different foundations over the last year (not really, more like 20-ish) and can honestly say, I’m really impressed with this!

Finding a one size fits all foundation is impossible, obviously. We all have different variations in skin tones & skin types, different concerns and different expectations. Which is where I’ll start off, this is a medium coverage foundation. Medium – it’s going to give you flawless, natural coverage but it’s not going to look like you shellacked layers and layers of product on. So coverage wise, this exactly what I want and what I love about this. I still want my skin to look natural, but any redness/unevenness covered without looking masked. Not too much to ask for right?! 😉 I prefer to apply this with a damp beauty sponge for seamless coverage that looks & feels weightless. This can totally be built up if full coverage is your thing, but it doesn’t look heavy at all. I love that this contains SPF, the older I get the more I value this and appreciate any additional protection I can get.

24 hour wear-time seems a bit excessive, the longest I’ve worn it for was a solid 12 hours and thought it held up well with the usual mid-day touch up. There is no flashback with this and it dries down matte but doesn’t accentuate pores/dryness. I always set my foundation with either a loose or pressed powder and notice this keeps me shine-free for 7-8 hours or so before I need to touch up/blot.

I am REALLY into this foundation and think the main reason is the shade range, they have 29 shades so this really was designed with everyone in mind. I have the hardest time finding a foundation in the right shade with the right undertones. In this, the shade Medium R300 is my perfect match. I almost always have to mix 2 foundation to get a correct match and even then I feel like it still looks a little off sometimes. Right now this is competing with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation & the Bare Minerals BarePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation as my top favorite. YAY for 2018 starting off with a lot of good foundation choices! Xo.
