It’s not even super “cold” here yet in Tennessee and my skin is already feeling dry and in need of a change of products. I’ve used a few different products since writing my last skincare routine post, a few that are really good and will be sharing in an upcoming monthly favorites post. As of late, I’ve been using the Dr. Zenovia Hormonal Skincare line and was surprised to see how quickly I noticed results.

I thought it was interesting to find a skincare brand that focuses on hormonal balance & skincare in one. Scientific studies have shown a link to estrogen levels and skin health – imbalanced estrogen levels are a key factor in hormonal acne. Dr. Zenovia spent years doing extensive research and clinical trials to create a completely new field: hormonal dermatology. As someone with PCOS (diagnosed in 2017) I totally stand behind this. Hormones definitely play a part in overall skin health. I used to wonder why I my skin would break out in my late 20’s when that wasn’t even an issue for me in my teens. Birth control + a clean diet are what I find have helped the most and I’m excited to incorporate skincare designed specifically for this as well!

Bakuchiol Hydrating Cleanser ::: REG-ulate360 complex, powerful blend of antioxidants Green Tea & botanicals. This cleanser is soap-free, clinical grade and pH balanced and suitable for any skin types, even the most sensitive.
Vitamin C Brightening Toner ::: I’ve come to appreciate a good toner so much more as I age. This one contains vitamin C + E to help brighten & calm skin and sea salt to neutralize pore clogging impurities.
10% Glycolic Acne Control Peel Pads ::: These contain a combination of Glycolic & Salicylic acids to help promote skins cellular renewal process and help thoroughly remove dead skin cells. I’m a big fan of these. I can feel a huge difference in the smoothness of my skin on nights I use these (2-3x/weekly).
5% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Spot Treatment ::: This is the product I was impressed with the most. It’s a clinical-grade spot treatment solution to target acne flare ups and reduce redness & inflammation. The combination of Bakuchiol & aloe vera are soothing and I noticed a difference in my skin by the next morning when applying this as a spot treatment the night before.
Peptide + Ceramide Repairing Moisturizer ::: A deeply moisturizing cream that helps enhance skins tone & radiance while helping firm, plump and strengthen skins barrier to boost elasticity. It contains a unique combination of bio-equivalent ceramides, humectants & emollients to retain and distribute moisture. This is a great night cream and is fabulous for dry winter skin.
Aloe Vera Blemish Soothing Moisturizer ::: I prefer to use this in the morning as it’s a lighter formula and layers well under makeup. It contains squalane & antioxidants to help reduce redness and provide long lasting hydration.

I’m impressed with this skincare line and love that it caters to hormonal skin. All of the above mentioned products are available http://www.Sephora.com and http://www.drzenovia.com
