Aside from the never-ending health & fitness focused goals I have, one of my main focuses this year is cleaning up my beauty routine. I’ve always opted for natural and organic skincare products when possible, but always neglected digging into ingredients within my makeup collection. While I haven’t limited my makeup to only natural and organic products, I’ve significantly decreased my collection to less than half of what I had just a month ago. Baby steps. I’ll get there.
My latest organic makeup find that’s actually good amazing is Harvest Natural Beauty. All of their skincare & makeup are made from 100% non-toxic, natural and organic ingredients that DO NOT contain any chemical preservatives.
Firstly, the Flawless Finish Organic Primer is hands down the best primer I’ve ever used. It’s so lightweight, non-greasy and really does help reduce the appearance of pores. A few of the ingredients: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Jojoba Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Candelilla Wax, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Green Tea), Rosehip Fruit Oil, Oregano Leaf Extract, Thyme Extract, Cinnamon Bark Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract and Lavender Flower Extract. It’s awesome and is officially the ONLY primer I’ve been using & will continue to use until I’m totally out.
I was also really impressed with the Organic Paraben Free Liquid Foundation. It comes in 8 shades – so it’s not the biggest selection however I was surprised that the shade Bamboo (warm neutral) was a really close match for me. Who else has a hard time finding the perfect shade match when it comes to foundations?! This one is really hydrating without feeling greasy or heavy and it doesn’t oxidize at all. I prefer to apply just one pump of this with a damp beauty sponge and really sheer it out for the most natural finish that still gives great coverage and evens my skintone out. I haven’t used an organic foundation in a while but I definitely like this one far better than any before.
I love a good blush and these fit the bill. Pigmented, blendable and long lasting. I have the shades Flush (cool pinky brown) and Petal (soft & perfect pink). Flush is the perfect neutral blush and great to wear daily especially on those “no-makeup” makeup days and Petal is a great staple blush shade that will suit a wide range of skin tones and looks so beautiful applied lightly or can easily be built up for more intensity.
Last but not least, the Lengthening Organic Mascara – infused with vitamin E and ingredients like Coffee Powder, Sunflower Seed Oil this mascara is really conditioning without being too watery and it doesn’t smudge. Comparing this to the last organic mascara I tried (which I hated – it didn’t emphasize my lashes and smudged everywhere) this one is much better at adding length and volume.
If you only take away one thing from this post, it should be to research some of the ingredients in your makeup and make a conscious decision on what to use and what to avoid. If you’ve tried other organic makeup in the past and weren’t impressed, I highly recommend checking out Harvest Natural Beauty – I love every single product mentioned above and am so excited to have found a clean beauty brand that works just as well if not better than many chemical filled products.
