Ranking My Top 5 Face Palettes

Face palettes are one of those products we often look over because a lot of times they’re big & bulky and only contain a shade or 2 that actually work for our individual skin tones. I’ve decluttered A LOT of stuff lately and am really trying to narrow it down to only things I love and get use of. Here are my top 5 face palettes ranked favorite to least.

#1 – Too Faced • Natural Face Palette ::: This is by far my favorite face palette. I reach for it constantly. It contains 6 multi-use shades; two blushes, two highlighters, and two bronzing veil powders. Every shade has fabulous pigmentation and color payoff and blends out like a dream. This is the perfect formula when it comes to face powders, they really apply so effortlessly and are tones that could suit a variety of skin tones depending on how heavy handed you use them. They’re infused with hydrating coconut butter and are super creamy and comfortable to wear. The scent is sweet but not overbearing and doesn’t translate to the skin. I also LOVE the dainty, sturdy packaging. There isn’t a single dud in here in my opinion, nor is there a shade I won’t get use out of.http://www.toofaced.com

#2 – EVER • Out The Door Elegant & Empowered Palette ::: This was a close second. I LOVE finding clean beauty brands and products that work as well as this. This four-in-one palette contains a bronzer, highlighter, blush and 3 eyeshadows to create a simple, easy to follow look that takes no time or effort. The lightweight silky formula is perfect for sculpting and adding natural dimension. With a mixture of complementary matte and shimmer finishes, you can achieve a very natural, flawless look every use. In addition to a little “how-to” guide included the actual powders have numbers embossed in them making this ideal for everyone, including makeup beginners. I don’t ever use the eyeshadows included but love having a blush, bronzer and highlighter in shades that I love all together. • http://www.everskin.com

#3 – Rodial • I Woke Up Like This Palette ::: This really is the perfect palette for traveling, it’s super small and compact and contains the best shades of products that look so natural & sophisticated, these really are “must-haves” in my opinion. This limited edition palette contains six complexion powders: Contour, Bronze-Tour, Blushers Soho & Lust and Highlighters 01 & 02. If you’re working with a small enough brush you can individually apply each product, but I find that it just seems easiest to swirl your brush around in each pan and mix the shades. I noticed that when mixing the Contour & Bronze-Tourpowders, the color payoff is similar in tone. Not too warm or bronzy, but not overly cool-toned either, just good shade for someone who wants a powder that will add subtle definition (in place of a contour) and a bit of warmth. What I find the most unique about this palette is that it contains ingredients that have the ability to help contain & absorb excess oil while still keeping the color locked in place. • http://www.rodial.co.uk

#4 – The Organic Skin Co. • 4 Palette with Pods ::: This is a palette I built myself containing 2 Blushes, 1 highlighter and 1 concealer. I love the concept of creating your own perfect palette so you don’t have any shades that don’t work for you. I don’t think I was able to add a bronzer or I would have, so I settled for an extra blush. I love how clean these products are and that they’re not filled with chemicals or any synthetic ingredients. I would have ranked this even higher if they were Powder products, I think the quality is great I just don’t reach for cream face products all that often unless it’s foundation. However, these are actually really good and long lasting and I love the concealer shade. I am always looking for cleaner makeup to take the place of less clean products and this has been a current fave of mine! All of their makeup is cruelty-free, recyclable, vegan & 100% natural and this is totally a brand worth checking out. • http://www.theorganicskinco.com

#5 Smashbox • Cali Kissed Highlight & Blush Palette ::: I am only ranking this last because I think it’s better suited for medium to deep skin tones so I’m limited to using this only when I have a tan. Although it’s a blush & Highlight palette, I really wish they would have included a medium tone matte bronzer for more versatility. There are 4 shimmer highlighters & 2 matte blush powders. The two blushes pack a huge punch and look really bright and summery. Only 2 of the highlighters work for me; Crank It Up Champs (warm champagne shimmer) and Pink Nightie (peach shimmer). And although I reach for this palette the least, I still find it worth keeping in my collection. Also worth noting: it’s formulated without Phthalates, PEG, sulfate, parabens, retinyl palmitate, BHT, BHA, sulfite, alcohol, petrolatum, formaldehyde, triclosan, triclocarban, SLS & SLE. • http://www.smashbox.com
