I usually don’t get this excited and anxious to review a product, however: Bobbie Thomas co-created this makeup line with her best friend Andrea, and if you don’t know who Bobbie Thomas is, she’s one of the most recognized beauty experts with over a decades worth of experience including over 500+ segments on networks such as E! The View, Wendy Williams, Style Network’s Fashion Police, the Today Show… need I say more?
Despite trying thousands and thousands of different makeup products, Bobbie filled the gap in the industry and created a single product that streamlines your entire beauty routine into a one genius palette; the Fold Out Face Palette. It includes two concealers, four eyeshadows, two blushes, a shimmery highlighter, contouring powders and two blending powders. This isn’t a new launch, I think it’s been around for a year or two, but it’s new to me and my first impression is, why didn’t I find this sooner?!!
As a busy mom of two, I like to keep things as simple as possible, and that most definitely includes my makeup routine. As much as I would love to spend an hour each morning styling my hair, airbrushing my makeup, applying everything from blush to false lashes, to an in-depth eyeshadow look.. I just don’t have the time (or any reason to get that dressed up!) 😉 My biggest priority is getting my kids up, fed & ready for school by 7 A.M. and because I sleep in until the last possible minute, I don’t leave myself much time after to get myself fully “ready” for the day. But like everyone else in my situation, I still want to look presentable & put together, and I don’t think there is a better product out there to help me achieve this day-to-day in less than 5 minutes than this one.
I start out by applying the skin perfectors all over my face, I use the lighter shade underneath my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and mix in the darker shade everywhere else. It’s definitely light coverage but blends out so easily and looks so natural. No oxidizing, no cake face, smooth even coverage that takes seconds to apply. I then go in with the contour shade. To be completely honest, I hate contouring. I really do. I rarely do it, but this being an all-in-one palette, it only takes a few extra seconds to apply and the shade isn’t too pigmented or dark where it is going to take any extra time or effort to blend out. The top contouring shade is great for setting the concealer (foundation) under your eyes. The blushes are beautiful and I have a ridiculous amount of blushes but prefer these over so many others. Another thing I’m not crazy about are those in-your-face, over the top ridiculously glittery highlights. This one is subtle but adds a nice glow without taking over your entire face. The two face blenders are amazing, I mix the two and apply it all over my face to set everything in place and keep my makeup matte and intact. While these aren’t my favorite eyeshadows, they contain everything you need for a natural everyday look. I prefer using the darker contour shade as an eyeshadow in my crease, and the color shine all over my lids.
This 4-in-1 brush comes with the palette and is the perfect companion for a simplified routine. I prefer to use the flat tapered end to apply the concealer/foundation and the big fluffy end for blush, contour, highlight and for the blenders.
This palette is totally worth every penny, and I can’t recommend this enough to my fellow busy moms who don’t have a ton of time to get ready each morning but still want to slay. Xo.
