Physicians Formula Butter Highlighters

Pretty sure I’ve never been this excited over highlighters, ever. I am not someone who loves super glittery, blinding, sparkly cheeks. No ma’am. My life is way too boring to be walking around the grocery store looking like a blinged-out disco ball.. I know some can relate! 😉 Highlighting has been trendy for years, and pretty much every single makeup brand has created their own version of one.

I was always one to think, if you have one or two highlighters, you’re pretty much set because they all start to look exactly the same and offer pretty much the same results. That’s kind of true anyway, right? However, I always get into a rut of using the same products (or ones very similar to one another) and was ready for something new and different.

While Instagram is flooded with reviews on the latest overpriced highlighters – I was beyond excited to find these incredibly affordable and crazy stunning Physicians Formula Butter Highlighters. They rocked it with these. These are unlike anything I’ve ever used. They contain anti-aging peptides and nutrient rich ingredients such as Murumuru butter, Capuacu butter and Tucuma butter. Making them hydrating but still great for oily prone skin. Hands down the creamiest, smoothest consistency I’ve ever felt in a highlighter, it almost feels like a mousse-like texture but is a cream to powder formula. As the name suggests, it feels exactly like butter. I’m obsessed.

I have 4 of the 5 shades offered, Champagne being my absolute favorite (Pearl is a close second) and the shade Pink being my least favorite. Champagne is a really gorgeous, universally flattering shade for anyone with light to medium skin tones. Pearl is awesome for someone with lighter to fair skin but layers so well with champagne to create the prettiest, subtle glow. I love that these are not glittery in the least, they have some serious color payoff but when applied with your fingers you can easily control how intense you want them to look. Rose Gold is just a tad too dark for me, but I find that it works well applied on the eyelids for an added pop of shine. It lasts nowhere near as long as a powder eyeshadow would, but it’s a highlighter so thats to be expected.

I love how smooth and creamy these are without looking over the top. They add the perfect glowing sheen and at a price just shy of $11/each, you can stock up on several for what you’d pay for just one at Sephora, which I am all about!

  1. I love these highlighters. I have champagne and rose gold. They are probably one of the best drug store highlighters I’ve tried so far. They also smell great as well. Great post!
