Āether Beauty Joshua Tree Palette

At this point I think it’s fair to say Āether Beauty is my favorite brand when it comes to eyeshadow. I have all 5 of their palettes since their initial launch in 2018 and can honestly say there isn’t a single dud in the collection. I also appreciate that they don’t pump out an excessive amount of new launches and focus on #slowbeauty meaning that their palettes are good for 3-4 years once opened which is a huge huge plus.

A few things worth mentioning about the brand (I write this in every review I do of theirs because I think it’s important to know and also useful to anyone who’s new to the brand)! ALL of Āether Beauty’s products are fully-recyclable, formulated with only fair-trade and organic ingredients, are vegan & cruelty free. It’s a one woman show and she is making huge waves in the beauty industry!

Their latest eyeshadow palette launch is the beautiful Joshua Tree Palette. 12 buttery smooth mattes inspired by the desert landscape in Joshua Tree. Standout ingredients include; citrine powder to help with skins renewal, organic hempseed oil for hydration and organic coconut oil & shea butter for a super smooth application. To be honest I’m truly a neutral makeup wearer but was drawn to this palette for 2 main reasons – Joshua Tree has been on my bucket list of places to see for years so I was excited to see makeup inspired by such a beautiful place. And I felt like this color story, although colorful, looked “toned down” enough to be wearable even for those of us who don’t normally reach for bright, colorful eyeshadows.

This formula is so easy to work with. It blends out so quickly and evenly and this palette pairs well with any of their other prior existing palettes. I also enjoy just choosing 1 shade and blending it out all over my lid. I seem to keep dipping into Citrine (the yellowish daffodil shade), it’s bright and reminds me of sunshine and puts me in a good mood! 🙂 No thought or effort needed, just a smooth, quick wash of color. The formula is pigmented and there’s good color payoff even from the lighter shades.

If you’ve tried clean eyeshadows in the past and haven’t found a formula you’ve loved, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out any of Āether Beauty’s palettes, you won’t be disappointed. And a portion of the proceeds from this palette go to the Mojave Desert Land Trust.
