Kosas Cloud Set Baked Setting & Smoothing Powder

To help extend the wear of a full face of makeup, many of us dust on a light layer of powder to lock everything in place and keep excess oil at bay. And while there is no shortage of setting powders available, many of them lack when it comes to doing anything more than just setting your makeup. Kosas’s founder Sheena Yaitanes created Cloud Set, a lighter than air powder that smooths, blurs and sets everything into place, all day long.

What sets Cloud Set apart from the rest is that it’s essentially makeup made with skin-loving ingredients, and part of Kosas tinted skincare line. It starts as a mousse that’s infused with liquid skincare actives then baked dry to a light, airy texture. It gives the same diffused effect as a loose powder, without all the mess. Some of the skincare ingredients included are, bamboo stem extract (balances oil production), passionfruit extract (hydrates, reduces the appearance of fine lines) and Chinese peony (minimizes the appearance of pores).

I ALWAYS set my makeup, and have used a ton of different powders throughout the years… and this is the cream of the crop. A few sweeps of this will help control shine without the dry, flat finish. It allows your skin to still look natural while adding a soft focus finish. Cloud Set is currently offered in 10 shades and is ideal for any skin type (even dry skin!) It pairs well with any makeup, I prefer to use a lightweight skin tint (their Tinted Face Oil is a great option) followed by Kosas’ Revealer Concealer (this is THE best concealer I’ve ever used) then liberally dust this all over my face. I’ve noticed you can’t really over do it with this formula. It’s weightless, and blends in with zero effort.
