PYT Beauty – Clean “No BS” Makeup

As mentioned in a previous post, one of my goals for 2019 was to “clean up” my skincare routine (check) and my makeup collection. While I’m not going totally natural/organic with my makeup, I’ve made a lot of progress in getting there. I tried doing this years ago when I first started blogging and found it so hard to find clean makeup that was actually GOOD. Options were SUPER limited. It’s cool to see how much the space has grown and how many new indie brands have come up and given us so much more selection.

Instead of using nasty chemicals like parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, PEGS, sulfates and synthetic fragrances, PYT Beauty created cruelty-free, hypoallergenic, “No BS” (no bad stuff) formulas that include ingredients like olive oil, jojoba oil, shea butter and manuka honey.

::: No BS Eyeshadow Palette / $32 ::: Their best-selling product and one of those go-to staple, everyday palettes. As fun as it is to play with color cosmetics, I am totally 100% a neutral kind of girl. It’s my comfort zone and works whether I’m at the playground with my kids, at the grocery store or out to dinner. Plus, is there such this as having too many neutral eyeshadow palettes?! I don’t think so! They made the two “base” shades bigger as they’ll probably get the most use, and added 3 matte and 3 shimmer shades. Depending on your skin tone the top matte base shade could even work as an undereye setting powder as well. The formula is so easy to work with and although the colors look super neutral and light, it’s still super easy to create something smoky and sultry. And to be honest, the shimmery base shade (bottom left) is a champagne with a light pink shift and I like using that even more so than the actual Upgrade Highlighter as my cheek highlighter. It’s beautiful.

::: Heart Beat Cheek Color / $ 22 ::: A shade range of 3; Exhale, Headrush & Hustle. I chose the shade Hustle, it’s a peachy pink that blends out easily and adds a natural subtle flush with just a touch of shimmer. And it’s hypoallergenic formula so rest assured if you have sensitive skin.

::: Upgrade Highlighter / $22 ::: This also comes in 3 shades; Courtside, Backstage Pass & Front Row. Pictured is Backstage Pass. While it’s a pretty basic shade, it looked like it would best suit my skin tone (light/medium). If you’re looking for a blinding highlight… this isn’t it. It’s pretty and will give you a soft, subtle glow but it looks like most of my other highlights with the pro being the clean ingredients.

If you’re looking for makeup with clean ingredients thats affordable, you’ll appreciate this brand.
