As a beauty blogger, I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to try out the latest & greatest in the makeup world and more products that one could ever need. When you’re continuously trying out so many products and brands you begin to set your standards higher and higher and find it easier to differentiate the studs from the duds. And I am excited to say that this isn’t just another “basic” boring product. The Kevyn Aucoin brand screams luxury to me and this definitely is a luxurious must-have all-in-one palette.
This Neo-Trio palette contains the Neo-Bronzer in Capri, the Neo-Limelight in Ibiza and their Neo-Setting Powder. It’s a magnetic palette that can be separated and each one comes in a mini travel-friendly size.
I am SO, so picky when it comes to bronzer & contour, a lot of powders make my makeup look “muddy” and sit weird on top of my foundation. This is the ONLY bronzer I’ve used over the last few months. The blush in this palette is a universal mid-tone rosey pink shade and looks beautiful on a wide range of skin tones. The highlight is nice, it’s subtle (which I love) but I do like the Neo-Limelight more than this. But, thats just a personal preference and I still do reach for this one quite often. I prefer to apply each separately, but when swirled together they create a rosy-mauve, medium warm undertone luminous finish.. It’s so beautiful.
The Neo-Limelight – I know what you’re thinking.. a purple highlight?!! Yes. I know. It looks very bold & bright in the pan and probably like something you’d never wear. I am not into crazy highlights (or crazy makeup at all for that matter) and am here to tell you this is one of my favorite highlights. I have never applied just the purple end directly to my cheeks, I’ve always mixed the lighter shade with the purple. I’ve mentioned before, I hate in-your-face shiny, glittery, disco-ball looking highlighters. Not for me, I love that subtle, lit-from-within glow and truly think Kevyn Aucoin beauty nailed it with their highlighters.
And last but not least, the Neo-Setting Powder. To to be honest I was kind of confused with this. It comes with a glittery over spray that doesn’t really make much sense in my opinion. SO before you go to apply this all over your face to set your makeup, make sure to rub off the top layer to get to the matte powder. If you don’t you’ll end up with a not so cute shiny finish! After you get down to the actual matte setting powder, it’s actually pretty good. It’s not on the level of my beloved Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder or my favorite Too Faced Kandee Johnson Banana Powder, but it will set your makeup in place and leave a soft matte finish. And it kept my face shine-free for about 6-8 hours before I noticed my T-zone looking a little oily.
SO – if you’ve made it this far in the post and can’t already tell that I love this palette, I totally do! If you’ve wanted to try out the brand but aren’t ready to commit to the luxury price tag for each individual full sized product, this is a fabulous option. Three of their best-sellers in one travel-friendly palette for $58 – it’s an amazing value and totally worth the splurge!
