Guerlain Limited Edition Holiday Terracotta Golden Bee Highlighter

I was so impressed by Guerlain’s holiday skincare set (Abeille Royale), I knew trying out some of their makeup was next on my list! I used their infamous Meteorites years ago so was eager to see what some of their other makeup offerings were like. This year their holiday collection features 4 limited edition products; an eyeshadow palette, meteorites, a lipstick and the Terracotta Golden Bee Shimmery Illuminating Powder.

Guerlain’s limited edition collections are known collectibles. So the actual tin the powder is housed in can be used after the product expires or is used up. And there is no shortage when it comes to attention to detail in the products presentation.

The powder itself is a coppery-bronze shade designed to brighten any complexion. Inspired by their Terracotta powder, Golden Bee offers a pop of golden shimmer for an instantly radiant complexion. For me, this works better as a warm-toned bronzer. For someone with a deep/dark skin tone this would probably work best as a highlighter. It blends out really easily and adds a warm sun-kissed glow to the skin. One thing you can count on when it comes to Guerlain is their beautiful signature scents and luxe packaging. The Terracotta scent contains notes of ylang-ylang, vanilla, white musk and orange blossom.

I’ve included a few swatches of other bronzers I have for comparison.

If you’re a fan of Guerlain and collect their makeup, you’ve probably already bought this or plan to! Or if you’re interested in luxury cosmetics, you’ll probably appreciate this as well.

  1. I got this one as well! Did I need it? No. Does it look good on me? Meh, could be better. Did I buy it exclusively because of the packaging? Yes, and I would again. So. Damn. Pretty!
