Despite your view on the controversy of discontinuing the original Rose Gold Palette and reformulating and rereleasing a new & improved palette, you have to admit, this palette is absolutely gorgeous! I didn’t own the first version so I can’t fully compare, but I can say that the Rose Gold Remastered Palette is absolutely amazing. And.. to be quite honest is tied with ABH Norvina as my favorite palette ever. E-V-E-R.
Upon first glance, the Rose Gold Remastered’s 18 shades appear to be extremely similar to the original. However, there are distinct differences between the two. Firstly, the packaging. The new palette offers sturdier, higher quality packaging with a mirror and photo of Huda herself on the cover. The palette contains four key textures; 8 mattes, 8 melted metals, 1 wet & dry shadow and 1 pressed pearl shadow.
What sets this palette apart from all the rest is the unique melted metals foil-like formula. It’s so dense and richly pigmented and really adds such intensity and high shine once applied. It’s a cream-like consistency and is truly unique amongst an oversaturated market of eyeshadow palettes. While this formula does work well with a brush, I find you get the best color payoff and intensity when applied with your fingertips. Which I don’t mind, I’ll use whatever tool needed for the best result. In addition to using as eyeshadow, the shade Moon Dust looks stunning as a cheekbone highlight. My favorite shades: Dubai, Pink Diamond & Rose Gold.
And, let us not forget about the mattes. They’re equally as impressive. While this palette is predominantly warm toned, I love that she added a few cooler tones like Suede & Coco as well. The matte formula blends out like a dream, has NO fallout and there’s a great variety of crease colors in addition to darker shades to add depth making this great for creating tons of different looks. Another thing I found really interesting with this palette is that the shade Black Truffle was designed to be used both wet & dry. Unlike a washed out, dull, patchy black we often see thrown into a lot of palettes, this one is a true pitch black and actually works well in place of a liquid eyeliner. I hate using liquid eyeliner on my upper lash line – I always manage to make a streaky, uneven mess, but this shadow applied wet with a really small, thin precise brush.. I can actually work with. Favorite Shades: Demure, Suede & Sandalwood.
In comparison to Huda Beauty’s entire collection of eyeshadow palettes, to me the Rose Gold Remastered Palette reigns supreme. The the unique formula is what really sets this palette apart from anything else I’ve tried and the romantic rose-toned color story makes it even better! Xo.
